X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html: <p>Implicit association tests (IATs) are wide
ly known\, highly recognized tools used in social psychology to study impli
cit bias.  In IPE programs\, we know that early learners are able to identi
fy stereotypes about health professions\, including their own. IPE curricul
a strive to dispel those ideas and encourage mutual respect\; however\, imp
licit biases may persist and ultimately impact interprofessional collaborat
ion in the practice environment.  Limited work shows IATs are used within I
PE. Our team at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) introduced the conce
pt of implicit biases between professions in one of our foundational IPE co
urses to encourage reflection about the sneaky ways that biases may affect
interprofessional behaviors. We are now partnering with a team at Universit
y of Illinois Chicago (UIC) to create IATs for a broad spectrum of healthca
re professionals. Come hear about our work\, discuss unintended consequence
s that might arise\, and consider joining us in this research. Presented by
