Registration and abstract submissi on for The Clay Dunagan\, MD\,MS Annual Patient Safety and Quality Symposiu m is now open. This year's theme is "Closing the Quality Divide: < em>Providing health care we want\, need\, and deserve."

As the h ealth care needs of our communities continue to grow and evolve in complexi ty\, it is more important than ever that we continue to evaluate and respon d to any gaps we may see in patient care and experience. “Closing the Quali ty Divide” is more than providing consistent and excellent care to everyone \; it also requires turning to the concepts and lessons covered in the 2001 Crossing the Quality Chasm report to provide unique\, individuali zed care to each patient so they receive the health care they want\, need\, and deserve.

This year’s symposium will:

Summarize recommendations from the 2001 Crossing the Quality C hasm report and relevance for current and future learnings for patient safety and quality programs.
Address what “Patient Safety II” is a nd potential ways to integrate and support existing safety management pract ices in health care.
Illustrate application of artificial intellige nce and Epic utilization to support clinical processes.
Cover Patie nt Safety and Quality projects that demonstrate safe\, effective\, patient centered\, timely\, efficient\, or equitable care at the hospital or unit l evel.
Identify opportunities to improve diagnostic accuracy.
