What your profession brings to the team: Genetic counselors educate patients about genetic conditions, helping them understand inheritance patterns and possible symptoms associated. They provide risk assessments and discuss testing options available and help facilitate shared decision-making with patients as well as possible psychosocial implications of genetic testing and conditions. 

Why you joined HPSLC: I joined HPSLC to meet and learn from people that I will someday be working with to become more comfortable working on an inter professional team. 

Your superpower: Empathy. My superpower is empathy and actively listening, which aids me in my counseling skills and allows me to build a strong relationship with patients.
