Direct Address Videos involve a person speaking directly to a camera. These videos are often broken up using graphics or animations to visually illustrate a point. These videos provide a more intimate, physical presence of the person talking. This style can be especially useful for introductions or showing physical locations related to the discussion topic. Direct Address Videos are often used in combination with other media to create more complex projects.

Narrative videos include Clinical Skills and Procedural Demonstrations, Orientation Videos, and Documentaries. See examples of these videos below.
Clinical Skills and Procedural Demonstration Videos can be helpful to show procedural step-by-step instructions. These types of videos can make topics come alive in ways that just talking about them or showing images cannot. Text and graphics help illustrate topics and provide an overall instructional framework. The location should also be relevant to your content. Make sure there won’t be distractions or loud noises that would interfere with the recording.
Orientation Videos are short informational segments conveying course expectations, technologies/tools used within a course, and what students can expect during the course.
Documentary Videos combine various video styles as well as voice-over and still images to tell a story about a particular topic or idea. This method allows for significant creativity and can treat the subject in an engaging, in-depth way. These videos can take a significant amount of time to plan, develop, edit, and produce.
