Eva’s Excerpt May 2020

This is my wish for you:
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Hugs when spirits sag,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Faith so that you can believe,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
Love to complete your life.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

To our graduating students, residents and fellows:

I know I speak for all our faculty and staff when I say how proud we are of you. While this month may not include the graduation celebration you were hoping for, I hope it does not in any way negate the pride each of you feels at this important time. You have achieved an incredible milestone in your professional career. You are exceptional. You are the future and because of you, the future is brighter. I tried to write a poem to express my wishes for you, but RWE has done it so much better than I ever could.  Thank you for all you have done to contribute to our Washington University community and remember that whether you are staying here or leaving for the time being, you are always part of the WashU family.
