Mission

The Educational Technology and Innovation Unit (ETIU) leads in health professions education through collaborations with university partners to design, implement, and promote the uptake of evidence-informed pedagogies and technology to catalyze innovations in teaching and learning.

Structure

ETIU serves the Office of Education in the design, development, and implementation of educational technology tools, products, and services to support the delivery of educational programs at WashU Medicine.

The Instructional Design Studio (IDS) supports innovation and implementation of best practices in health professions education by partnering with subject matter experts in the design and production of learning experiences, instructional materials, and digital resources. ID Studio also conducts training and professional development sessions and produces documentation for business processes in partnership with Office of Education colleagues.
The Educational Technology Infrastructure & Services (ETIS) team designs, administers, and supports educational technology systems and solutions in partnership with Office of Education colleagues, WashU IT developers, and others. ETIS proactively identifies and solves educational technology problems in pursuit of continuous quality improvement.
The Data Analytics & Engineering (DAE) team designs, develops, and supports the Office of Education Data Warehouse in partnership with Office of Education colleagues, WashU IT developers, and others. DAE creates data engineering solutions, visualizations, and reports and supports the enablement of AI in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders.
