Profession: Medicine

Hometown: I am originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, however I moved to Brooklyn, NYC when I was in 8th grade, so I feel like I am little bit from both places!

What Your Profession Brings to the Team: As physicians, we will serve as both a coordinator and communicator within the healthcare team. Physicians often act to integrate input from multiple disciplines and ensure that all aspects of a patient’s care align well. This role requires not only medical expertise but the ability to synthesize information from various professionals and facilitate clear communication among them. By bridging these connections, I help ensure that each team member’s contributions are recognized and leveraged to provide the best possible care for the patient.

Why You Joined HPSLC: I have always been deeply interested in the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare. Upon arriving at WashU Med, I knew I wanted to better understand the complex dynamics that shape how healthcare teams function—both in caring for patients and in contributing to the larger healthcare system. My goal is to enter every team environment well-prepared to support my colleagues, amplify their strengths, and cultivate an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. By understanding each profession’s unique skills more deeply, I hope to help create a space where everyone feels empowered, valued, and able to perform at their best.

Your Superpower: I consider communication to be my superpower. I excel at fostering dialogue that is clear, approachable, and engaging across different disciplines. I am excited to bring this strength to HPSLC, using it to bridge perspectives and promote collaboration in a way that makes every member feel heard and energized to contribute.
