Kerri Palamara, M.D., Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School created, directs and participates in the Professional Development Coaching Program for Internal Medicine residents at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), which was designed to improve resident awareness of their growth and development, reduce burnout, encourage residents to become lifelong learners, and improve their confidence in their self-assessment and self-directed learning. Her academic work focuses on innovating ambulatory education, professional development coaching of residents, faculty development training, and most recently, directing the MGH Primary Care Residency Training Program. Dr. Palamara is engaged in qualitative and quantitative research of the coaching program and has developed and runs faculty development workshops nationally on this topic.
